TOWNSHIP CLERK DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Michigan State Law designates the duties of a Township Clerk, although Township Boards may require additional responsibilities or delegate certain duties.

• Election management and voter registration

• Cemetery management and record keeping

• Maintaining and organizing Township records

• Accounts Payable

AV Ballot Requests

  • Jan 13 Move (Military And Overseas Civilians) Ballots Sent Out
  • Jan 18 – Feb 23 Absent Voter Ballots Available To Voters By Mail
  • Jan 18 – Feb 26 Absent Voter Ballots Available To Voters In Person
  • Feb 16 By 5:00pm, Deadline For Voters To Submit A Written Request To Spoil Their Absent Voter Ballot And Receive A New Ballot By Mail.
  • Feb 16 By 5:00pm, Deadline For Voters Who Have Returned Their Absent Voter Ballot To Submit A Written Request In Person To Spoil Their Absent Voter Ballot And Receive A New Ballot In The Clerks Office.
  • Jan 18 Drop Boxes Accessible 24hrs/day

Registration

  • Feb 12 Last Day To Register In Any Mannor Other Than In-person With The Local Clerk.
  • Feb 13 – Feb 26 In-person Registration With Local Clerk With Proof Of Residency.
  • Feb 17 – Feb 25 Early Voting, Tawas Township Hall, 27 S. Mcardle Rd., Tawas City
  • Feb 24 Clerk Is Available In Office 9:00am – 5:00pm For Election Assistance.
  • Feb 27 Election Day 7 Am To 8 Pm, Ausable Township Hall
